About Us
Who We Are
Founder/owner, Joy Pappas, is a graduate of San Diego State University where she studied music and performed as a soloist and with ensembles. She has taught, directed and performed music throughout San Diego—for school districts, churches, choirs and private performances. At Joyful Keys Music Studio, we have taught students from all walks of life—from children to seniors, from beginners to advanced, and preparing students for audition and performing—locally and nationally.
How We Are Different
We provide higher quality instruction than is normally available at affordable rates. We tailor the lessons to the individual and work at a pace appropriate for each student. We teach mechanics, technique, principles and theory of music. Anyone can teach how to play an instrument or sing notes—our methods enable students to progress as far as their abilities and desires will take them.
By teaching proper methods, our students do not learn bad habits. For students that have been trained poorly elsewhere, we correct bad habits and focus on learning proper techniques to improve their skills and maximize their potential.
